← Natmeg

Natmeg ("the app", "we") is a casual arcade game. This policy explains what information the app handles and why. We do not ask for your name, email, or any account. The data we do collect is tied to a random identifier generated on your device, not to your real-world identity, and we have no way to work out who you are from it.

Data stored on your device only

The app saves a small amount of gameplay data locally on your device:

This data never leaves your device and is not sent to us or to any third party. Deleting the app removes it.

Analytics

To understand how the game is played and to improve it, Natmeg uses PostHog, a product-analytics service. Analytics data is tied to a random, anonymous identifier generated on your device (not your name, email, or Apple/Google account) so that repeat sessions can be counted for retention. We collect:

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, precise location, or any account identifier. The location above is estimated from your network connection, not from GPS: the app never asks for location permission and never reads your device's location sensors, and the coordinates our analytics provider works out are discarded before they are stored. It is an estimate and it can be wrong, sometimes only accurate to the country, for example on a mobile network or a VPN. Analytics data is processed by PostHog on our behalf; see PostHog's privacy policy at posthog.com/privacy.

Apple's privacy label on the App Store marks most of this as “Data Linked to You”. That is Apple's term for data tied to a persistent identifier over time, which the random id above is. It does not mean it is tied to your name or to an account, because there is no account.

Advertising

Natmeg shows rewarded video ads through Google AdMob — you choose to watch one (for example, to continue a run); ads are not forced on you. To serve and measure ads, Google and its partners may collect and use device and advertising identifiers and usage data in accordance with Google's policies. Ad requests include your IP address, which Google uses to estimate a general location and which Google retains under its own policy; that is separate from the analytics above. Google's ads SDK also collects crash logs and app performance data (such as start-up time and responsiveness) for diagnosing and improving the SDK. For details on how Google uses this data, see policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

You can limit ad personalisation at the device level: on iOS via Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking (and Apple Advertising), and on Android via Settings › Google › Ads (reset or delete your advertising ID).

Sharing your score

Sharing is always something you start. When you tap Share, the app takes a screenshot of your own game-over screen and prepares a short caption (your score, a link to natmeg.app/get, and the hashtag #natmeg).

On iOS the screenshot and caption are handed to the system share sheet, and nothing is sent anywhere until you pick an app and confirm. Where the native sheet is unavailable, the caption is copied to your clipboard and a social composer is opened for you instead. Either way the app does not transmit your score, the screenshot, or anything else on its own; whatever you choose to post is then handled by the app you post it to, under that app's own privacy policy.

Sending us feedback

Feedback is also always something you start. When you tap Send feedback in Settings, the app opens your own email app with a message to [email protected] already addressed. It fills in a few lines to help us find the problem: the app version, your platform and OS version, your device model, and, only while analytics is on for you (see "Legal basis for processing"), the random analytics identifier described above. You can read, change or delete any of it before sending, and nothing is sent until you send it yourself.

If you do send it, we receive your email address, what you wrote, and those lines. We use them only to reply to you and to fix what you reported. Including the analytics identifier lets us look at that identifier's gameplay data to understand a bug; it is also what lets us act on a deletion request (see "Your rights").

Children

Natmeg is a general-audience game and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Because the app shows ads and uses analytics, we recommend a parent or guardian supervise use by younger children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will address it.

Your choices

Third-party services

Natmeg uses the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

If a future version adds other services (for example in-app purchases), this policy and the App Store / Google Play privacy details will be updated before that version ships.

Legal basis for processing

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the following legal bases under the GDPR:

Which of these applies is worked out by Google's consent service from your network connection when the app starts. We do not store that determination as location data.

How long we keep data

Where your data goes

Our analytics provider PostHog stores and processes this data on servers in the European Union. PostHog is a US-based company and its personnel may access the data in order to provide and support the service; that access is covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. Google processes advertising data in the United States and other countries; those transfers rely on the safeguards Google puts in place, including the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the standard contractual clauses, as applicable.

Your rights

If you are in the EEA or the UK, you have the right to ask us for access to your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable form. You can also withdraw consent at any time.

In practice, because the app holds no account and the only identifier is a random one generated on your device, we cannot connect that identifier to you: not to your name, your account, or your device. So when a request arrives, we have no way to tell which records, if any, are yours. Where a controller cannot identify the person behind the data, the GDPR does not require it to collect more information purely in order to comply (Article 11). If you want us to act on a request anyway, contact us and we will tell you how to find the identifier your copy of the app uses; with that, we can locate and delete the matching records.

Deleting the app removes the local data and stops any further events being sent. It does not, on its own, delete analytics already collected: that is what a request to us is for.

To make a request, email [email protected]. You also have the right to complain to a data-protection authority. In Croatia that is the Personal Data Protection Agency (AZOP), azop.hr; if you live elsewhere in the EEA you may complain to your own national authority.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.

Who we are, and how to reach us

Natmeg is published by TVIK Solutions, a company registered in Croatia, which is the data controller for the processing described above. Questions about this policy, or any request under "Your rights": [email protected].
